We are currently seeking a motivated individual to be a part of our growing Powell Automation Division (PAD).
This exciting position allows the ability to not only grow professionally but also fuel the future presence of PAD in the automation space! As a member of PAD you will work and collaborate with diverse professionals to apply innovative and creative solutions to solve problems for our clients.
Key responsibilities include working closing with the engineering team to create custom and semi-custom drawing packages using AutoCAD for automation solutions as well as intelligent products in MV/LV switchgear applications.

AS A PAD AUTOMATION ENGINEER YOU WILL:
Become proficient in PAD solutions and offeringsAssure that all assigned electrical projects are designed on time according to schedule and completed accuratelyMeeting with engineers and other stakeholders to determine the project requirementsActively update the project management and task tracking system for all projects and associated tasksWorks closely with other Drafters & Engineers to ensure a coordinated designPromote designing standards to aid in simplifying the completion of the drawing package process.
Design and create drawing packages for custom and semi-custom panels that include but limited to intermediate to advanced wiring diagram, bill of materials (BOM), schematics, enclosure assemblies, and fabrications drawings.
Revise drawings based on engineering and customer mark-ups ensuring they aligned with project and client requirementsWork closely with vendors to specify project components as well as finding replaces for components that are obsolete or at end of life.
Proficiency with Communication Protocols such as Ethernet, Profibus, InCom, EIA-232, EIA-485, USB, Irig-B Time Signals, as well as familiarity with multimode and single mod fiber cables and connectors a plusPerforms tasks under minimal supervisionEnsure that the company's Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures are constantly adhered to all aspects of Site Services.
Provide technical guidance to internal and external stakeholders, including after sales support.
QualificationsHigh School Graduate or GED.
Minimum 1 year of design experience in Engineering or Designer roleBasic drafting/CAD skills, Inventor, or 3D CAD software required.
Previous experience in automation, PLC control systems, or protective relaying a plusAble to read and interpret electrical symbols, characters, and modify drawings.
Understanding of power systems applications and three phase power a plus.
Customer service orientedAble to work effectively in a team setting or independently, able to adapt to change, self-motivated, innovative, and willing to make a differenceExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong analytical and trouble shooting skills#LI-BH3About UsIn our 70
